External relations

The ETUC has consistently sought to work with the trade union movements in countries and regions associated with the EU, and in cooperation with international confederations. Its main objective is to ensure that a respect for international core labour standards and frameworks for social welfare and development are included in all association agreements, and especially in EU trade arrangements.
