Strong systems of social protection are fundamental to the European Social Model. Europe will not achieve higher growth and productivity by eroding social protection systems or scaring workers with threats of added insecurity or regressive pension reforms.
The ETUC believes national social protection regimes must guarantee healthcare services, decent pensions, and support to keep families out of the trap of poverty and social exclusion.
