Invitation : Photo action in support of workers' rights 23 April

Brussels 18 April 2024

  • Members of the European Parliament

Dear Members of the European Parliament,

Dear friends,

Next week the plenary votes on the Directive to improve working conditions in the platform economy and the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence directive will cement our joint commitment to workers’ rights protection and mark an important step in the process of regulation of the ever-growing global supply chains and platform economy.

The adoption of these Directives will lead to better and fairer working conditions for millions of workers, who are deprived of rights and benefits due to their unclear employment status, and who are exploited by business models relying on large & complicated subcontracting chains.

We will not put our guard down and will continue to be vigilant to ensure that the transposition of those legislations is a game changer for each of them, and with this short message we would like to express our gratitude for your work, inside and outside of the Parliament, that was instrumental to achieve this.

To mark the occasion, we would like to invite you to join us for the photo action that will take place on Tuesday, 23rd April at 11:45, in the European Parliament in Strasbourg, next to the entrance to the Plenary room.

Our team will provide visuals highlighting the commitment to workers’ rights and the photos will later be shared on ETUC social media channels and with your team.

To confirm your presence and for any questions and information do not hesitate to contact Lucie Susova ([email protected] ; +32 471703750) who works on the topic and will be present on the spot.

I am looking forward to seeing you in Strasbourg,

Kind regards,

Isabelle Scömann
