The Trade and Technology Council was set up as a forum for dialogue between the EU and the US after the negotiations on a trade deal failed. A Trade and Labour Dialogue was also set up: this is the forum where social partners from both sides of the Atlantic discuss with the US Trade Secretary Katherine Tai and EU Commission vice president Valdis Dombrovskis issues of mutual interest in the field of labour and sustainable trade. The first output of this dialogue are joint social partners' recommendations on what the EU and the US can do jointly to combat forced labour worldwide, deploying a variety of tools including trade policy and supporting social partners' capacity building in partner countries across the world.
