Dear Colleagues,

With this email we would like to invite you to a highly anticipated event – the third edition of the Trade Union Platfor(u)m that will be organised in cooperation with FES Competence Centre on World of Work and kindly hosted jointly by ETUC members in France - CFDT, CGT, UNSA, FO CFTC.
The recent victory of the European Directive on Platform work is not just a policy milestone, it is a testament to the resilience of collective efforts against the challenges posed by the evolving nature of work and the power dynamics within the European economic sphere.
The event, which is the largest trade union gathering on the topic of platform work will focus on the transposition of the Directive and trade unions’ experience and capacity to attract, organise and represent workers in digital labour platforms in all current and future sectors of their activity.

This edition will take place in Paris on the 25th and 26th of September 2024.

We invite you to register your delegations rapidly, and in any case before the summer break.

  1. Programme

Wednesday 25th Sep from 13.00- Thursday 26th Sep till 18.30

Arrivals are foreseen on 25th September in the morning.
Departures are foreseen after the end of the programme, 26th September after 18:30 or on 27th September.
As in past editions, the programme will feature a political part, including expert discussions with policy-makers, as well as interactive workshops proposed and led by ETUC member organisations.
ETUC Members (you) are warmly invited to propose a topic for workshops (90 min) that you will organise and conduct, with ETUC assistance The form to submit interest and topic of the workshop will be sent to confirmed participants.

Interpretation will be available for the two days in EN, FR, ES, IT

  1. Logistics and reimbursement

Please, read the attached travel and accommodation form carefully before making your travel arrangements. The event is organised in the framework of the ETUC project Fair Platforms and in partnership with FES Competence Centre. We will be able to provide accommodation and travel reimbursement to the selected participants.
ETUC will book the hotel for confirmed participants, who register within the deadline, for two nights from 25-27th September.
All additional nights will have to be booked and paid by the participants themselves.
Participants will be equally responsible for their travel bookings and receive travel reimbursement after the event according to attached rules.

We encourage organisations that can send participants without the need for reimbursement to do so in solidarity with delegations who cannot afford to cover travel and accommodation costs.

  1. Registrations

Interested participants must register via this form before 30th June 2024 and indicate whether they need reimbursement.
In the first round of registrations, ETUC will accept 2 people claiming reimbursement per organisation. Selected participants entitled to reimbursement will receive a confirmation by ETUC in the first week of July.

We invite you to register more participants as additional spots will be distributed in a second round according to availability. Participants who will not claim reimbursement must also register via the link.  We invite you to register more participants as additional spots will be distributed in a second round according to availability. Over the past years, it has become obvious that trade union engagement on platform work goes well beyond the regulatory framework and we are happy to organise this third edition of the Trade Union forum on the topic. We hope to see many of you in Paris, and we are looking forward to receiving the input for the workshops to create a fully member-led and participative event.

For any further questions please do not hesitate to contact my colleagues working on the event: Lucie ([email protected]) and Cecilia ([email protected]).

Kind regards,

Tea Jarc
