Dear colleagues,
We are pleased to invite you to the ETUC Youth Seminar on Just Transition, taking place on 8-9 April 2025 in Cluj Napoca, Romania, co-hosted by our colleagues from Blocul National Sindical. This seminar is part of the new ETUC Youth project, “Informed Youth Voice, Stronger Youth Voice”, which aims to strengthen young workers' role in shaping the future of work.
Date: 8-9 April 2025
Location: Cluj Napoca, Romania
Why this seminar?
The transition to a greener economy is essential, but it must be fair and inclusive for young workers. Young people are among those most affected by changes in industry, energy, and transport sectors—often facing precarious jobs, skill mismatches, and uncertain career prospects. A Just Transition must ensure that no one is left behind, providing quality jobs, social protections, and strong worker participation in decision-making. This seminar will also address the challenges that trade unionists are facing in their strive for just transition, including the union busting.
