Bruxelles, 2011 L’initiative New Skills for New Jobs a été lancée par une communication de la Commission européenne en 2008, en vue d’évaluer les besoins en compétences à l’horizon 2020 et de combiner la réponse à ces besoins avec l’affirmation d’une nouvelle politique industrielle.

Brussels, 2011 The New Skills for New Jobs initiative was launched via a Communication from the European Commission in 2008, with a view to evaluating skills needs up to 2020 and combining the response to these needs with the affirmation of a new industrial policy.

Brussels, 2010 It is important to understand the meaning of these cases for the trade unions in the EU, in order to see where problems at national level might occur or where some employers might want to use European case law in aggressive litigation tactics. There is indeed a clear risk that judges will increasingly be involved in industrial disputes. The ETUC has developed proposals to undo the damage done by those judgments. This offensive strategy requires strong solidarity amongst trade unions across Europe.
