EU member states have a ‘moral obligation’ to immediately enforce the ban on goods produced through forced labour which takes effect today. While members states have up to three years to implement it, the evidence from the International Labour Organisation shows there is no time to waste: - There are 28 million people in forced labour around the world, including 3.3 million children - 236 billion US dollars is the level of annual profit generated from forced labour in the world
Trade unions are the motor of social justice. Yet, addressing the overlapping crises and long-term structural economic transformations will require coordinated efforts by other actors too.

The European Trade Union Confederation today congratulated trade union representatives at the UN International Labour Organisation for reaching agreement today with governments and employers on a world-wide Convention (and accompanying Recommendation) for the elimination of violence and harassment in the world of work.
The Convention establishes for the first time a global and unique right of everyone to work free from violence and harassment.

The CCOO confederation in Spain has published a trade union information booklet celebrating the 100th anniversary of the International Labour Organization (ILO) in 2019.
The publication, one of a number of initiatives to mark the ILO's centenary, was launched by the Secretary General of CCOO, Unai Sordo, in Madrid on 5 June at the Economic and Social Council of Spain.
The International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC) and the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC) are calling on the European Commission to take up concerns about Kazakhstan's violations of freedom of association during a meeting of the EU-Kazakhstan Cooperation Council meeting on 26 February.
The European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC) joins with its global counterpart, the ITUC, in condemning the politically motivated campaign against the Georgian Trade Union Confederation (GTUC) and its President Irakli Petriashvili, launched by political forces aligned with the Georgian government.
